More from Nebraska: Uncle Roland & Aunt Jaccie

A week ago yesterday, we went to visit my Aunt Jaccie and Uncle Roland (my father's younger brother). Mom, my brother Mike, and I drove west from Lincoln and they drove east from Cambridge, and we met at a restaurant south of Grand Island. We had a very good lunch, only slightly marred by the realization that all five of us were considered "seniors" by the restaurant. At least we got a discount.

After lunch we relaxed in the lobby and traded stories about various relatives, health issues, old times, and the water level in the Republican River (yes, Nebraska tends to vote Republican, but the River was named after a branch of the Pawnee Indians called "The Republicans," before the political party even existed).

We always enjoy seeing them when we can, and enjoyed this visit too.
